Looking Ahead: MusicNow 3/30-4/1

MusicNow is a 3 day music festival that takes place at Cincinnati's awesome Music Hall every year. It was started in 2006 by Bryce Dessner of The National, which as we all hopefully know is made up of people from the Nati, even though they don't so much live here.

The concert kicks off this year on Tuesday, March 30th, and the lineup is pretty stellar. March 30th is Joanna Newsom, March 31st is St. Vincent, and April Fool's Day caps it all off with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. More guests (but not more nights) should be announced at some point.

Tickets are $20 per night or $50 for all three shows. Get 'em while they're hot here.

Welcome, Cafe de Wheels, Etc.

Hello, world! Welcome to Queen City Awesome, your guide to all things awesome in the 'Nati. Cincinnati, that is.

And now, for our first post...

I walked out of my office the other day and found, much to my delight, the Cafe de Wheels truck parked on near the corner of 9th Street and Main downtown. So, I went and ordered some food. And then ate it. And it was, as they say, completely delicious.

I have had food from a truck, and I have had sweet potato fries, but I tell you, friends, that these sweet potato fries from a truck put those fries to shame. Well, most of them, anyway. But they were damn tasty, and I welcome this addition to the world of Queen City Awesome. Check out their Twitter page for locations and the word of the day, good for $1 off.
